It is clear that in today's society, the preservation of our environment is a hot topic. Especially within the print and direct mail industry where there is the perception that an awful lot goes to waste- But not at Pepper!
At Pepper we have recognised the environmental concerns of printing and mailing production and take our responsibility very seriously.
We also understand that there are a lot of people jumping on the “Green” band wagon, playing lip service to the issues instead of taking action.
Pepper have been taking action for years being at the forefront of green print having used vegetable based inks and using chemical-less plate making technology since its conception.
FSC Certified Printer
We have recently been independently audited and certified as an FSC Approved Printing Company. This acknowledges that we are deemed competent to be part of the FSC Chain of Custody system.
We are now able to print on FSC certified papers and provide you with a guaranteed FSC product that has been tracked from its point of origin to the point of it being printed and dispatched.
Only FSC Approved Printers with the FSC Chain of Custody Certification may print the FSC Logo - known as a claim - onto your order when using FSC Certified Paper or FSC Recycled Paper.

We are passionate about the environment and as a result have already reduced our carbon footprint by implementing the following:- Installing a compacter to help reduce volume of waste.
- Reducing waste removals to once per month from four times, thus reducing carbon emissions caused by unnecessary transportation.
- Using vegetable based printing inks which are volatile chemical free.
- Only using FSC Accredited paper
- Using overnight couriers eliminating unnecessary same day transportation thus reducing emissions.
- Recycling metal plates used for printing.
- Reducing electricity consumption through a "switch-off" policy.
- Waste segregation procedure, leading to 80% reduction in landfill.
- Recycling of all paper, cardboard and plastic waste.
- Legal compliance with all environmental legislation related to our company.
- Reduction in use of and recycling of hazardous chemicals and emissions.
These are just some of our key successes in reducing waste and operating on a more sustainable basis. In 2008 we are working towards the ISO 14001 environmental accreditation and believe this will demonstrate our commitment to the cause even more. We have already obtained BS8555 which is an environmental management systems standard from the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment and provides us with a road map to ISO 14001.
